A major driver of declining confidence is the inability to move AI projects into production. The majority of generative AI initiatives fail to produce measurable ROI, and only a small fraction of enterprises have successfully embedded AI into core workflows. What was expected to improve productivity has instead increased costs, created disruption, and eroded executive confidence.
The root causes are not model performance alone.
